First Fruits of Labour

Ok so I was impatient and the first tomato that turned orange just happened to pop in my mouth and it was DELICIOUS! IMG_0927IMG_0926

and I just can’t contain myself but I ‘rooted’ my first pumpkin! LOL I have been patiently waiting for a girl flower. The butternut pumpkin

came through on Friday and needless to say I was a little excited!

I don’t know what sort of pumpkin this is, I think possibly Queensland Blue but she is popping her head through too Smile

How does your garden grow?

Another month on and much has progressed in the veggie garden. Today with miss Katie’s help we planted lots more seedlings. Multi coloured chilli, broccoli (purple!) cauliflower, Chives, Shallots, capsicum, carrots, turnips, Ce’s paw paw and Halloween pumpkin, and something else, but I forget! The first lot of corn has popped through so I planted another 20 seeds today. Also littered the mound with sunflowers and marigolds so it should look quite spectacular in a few months! The first lot of pumpkins, tomato, rockmelon and cucumber all are flowering, VERY exciting. Waiting for some girl flowers to come up on the pumpkin but I think I spotted my first butternut today Open-mouthed smile

Here is some before and now photos.

$13 a bale for sugar cane mulch but no allergy reactions so I’m NOT complaining! The passionfruit is happy on the fence line.

Cucumber much happier now it has a trellis to climb.

Lastly, yes I promise last photos, I have always wanted a wheelbarrow garden so I have been collecting some beautiful flowers, ta da! I love it!

I am going to have to have a veggie party because this garden is going to explode soon!

Melbourne Flower and Garden Show

A few weeks ago I landed in Melbourne and an hour later I was visiting the Melbourne Flower and Garden Show with Emma and Andrew. It was SENSATIONAL! And as luck should have it I had my macro lens handy to take some glorious photos. Please enjoy xx
